The Nudge, published by The Bond House LLC, a Wyoming company, uses cookies and other tracking technologies to understand how readers use the site and to keep it running smoothly. This page explains what we use and why.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies help websites recognize you, remember your preferences, and measure how people use the site.

Our cookies

Essential cookies

These cookies are necessary for the site to function. They handle things like security, session management, and serving you the right content. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without breaking the site.

Examples: session ID, CSRF tokens, hosting and security cookies set by Vercel and Cloudflare.

Analytics cookies (requires consent)

We use analytics cookies to understand which essays readers find valuable, how long they spend reading, and which pages matter most. This helps us write better content. You must accept these cookies for them to load.

We use two services for this. Google Analytics counts page views and tells us where readers arrive from; Google keeps that data for 14 months. PostHog shows us how people move through an essay, including recordings of a small sample of visits. Both companies are based in the US. You can read Google's privacy policy and PostHog's.

Your choices

When you first visit the site, you'll see a cookie consent banner. You can allow analytics cookies to help us improve the site, or decline them if you prefer only essential cookies to load.

If you've already made a choice and want to change it, clear your browser cookies and refresh the page—the banner will reappear. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings.

International data

Google Analytics and PostHog are US-based services. If you are in the EU, UK, or other regions with data protection laws, your data will be processed according to applicable laws. We do not sell or share your analytics data with third parties beyond what these services require.

More information

For details on how we collect and use all your information (not just cookies), see our Privacy policy. If you have questions or want to exercise your data rights, email us at nudge@thebond.company.
